Does my $25.00 go directly to the child or the child's family?

As the child's sponsor you are connected directly with that specific child. For maximum effectiveness your monthly donation is pooled. This means the funds wont directly go to the child's family but the child will benefit directly in terms of school fee's and other necessities being provided for the child via the pooled funds.

How long is my sponsorship commitment

Your sponsorship is an ongoing commitment to help that specific child and the community she/he lives in. How long you choose to do this is at your own discretion. Our hope is that as you receive updates on the child you sponsor you will decide to commit with us long term.

Is this child real? Do other people sponsor the same child?

Each child that is listed on this website is a real child with a real story. You can get to know your child by letters, emails, photos and progress updates. You are even welcome to attend a mission trip and meet your child and his/her family firsthand to see how your donation has impacted their life and the surrounding community.

How does child sponsorship work?

Hope That Helps child sponsorship programs focus on improving the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being of the most vulnerable children. We have learned that the most effective way to help a child is to strengthen the child’s entire community. These community-focused solutions allow us to help many children including the child that you will be sponsoring.

We partner with communities

A part of the Hope and Empower model is to empower not only individuals but whole communities. Through the local church we enable children and families to change their future.

1 Child + 1 Sponsor

Through our local church partnership needy children are selected and placed in the sponsorship program. Each child is matched with one sponsor who can watch how their life is impacted over time. This one on one sponsorship is a powerful way to share the love of God.

  • Ensures that the child is enrolled in school and receives daily meals while in school

  • Any encouraging cards, letters, photos, or packages that you send

  • Community-wide solutions such as clean water systems, improved schools, health services,  farming co-ops

what do you get?

  • Welcome packet with child information

  • Your first letter from your child (within about 12 weeks)

  • Yearly child photo and updates

  • Annual progress reports from your child’s community

  • Complimentary greeting cards to send to your child

"Sponsoring a child with Hope That Helps has been a great joy for me. On my last mission trip I was able to meet the child I sponsor and the joy in her face reminds me of why I continue to give."
